I've chuckled at the PWR MAC1, PWRMAC and similar license plates you've been showing lately. As a former Store Manager for a once Apple-only reseller in the Northeast, I suggested to many Apple reps that Apple ought to have a contest and encourage a PWRMAC plate in every state of the union. My scenario was to have MacWeek post the verified plates each issue and have a tag line "Power Macintosh... sweeping the Nation." I know thousands of MacWorld Boston attendees have seen my plate parked outside of the World Trade Center in Beantown!

As for me, I think I have regional, national and international bragging rights. My PWRMAC plate was issued in the State of New Hampshire in February of 1994, one month before the 6100, 7100 and 8100 first generation PowerMacs were shipped.

If you need proof, I'll have to see if I still have that registration or can get verification for you from NH Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

I saw the license plate in the November '97 issue and thought to myself, "It's nice, but it's way too obvious." I prefer something more subtle, kinda like a secret handshake.

Attached is a pic of my license plate, which I've had since 1988. Yes, it is a Mac license plate. Can you guess why?
